Our Story

1932

The Kress Building isn’t just another historic spot in Lubbock, it’s a hidden treasure with serious style! Originally built as an S.H. Kress & Co. store, this Mission-and–Spanish Revival–inspired beauty was dreamed up by famed architect Edward F. Sibbert. For more than four decades (until 1975), it buzzed with shoppers picking up everything from everyday necessities to the latest delights. Its charm and character earned it a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, where it continues to shine as one of Lubbock’s standout architectural gems!
